Welcome to Victory of the Word.

Founded in 2020 in the Eastern Cape, Victory of the Word (VOW) is an arts and research organisation working across archives, contemporary artistic practice, publishing and public engagement.

Beginning with the living legacy of Lovedale Press, VOW investigates how knowledge has been produced, preserved and contested in Southern Africa, creating new conversations between historical archives and contemporary culture.

Our work unfolds through long-term research, exhibitions, the BODYLAND artist residencies, publications and collaborative public programmes.
